My Parental 3rd Eye

I was making lunch this past Saturday when my 7 year old Daughter Chinaza walked in the kitchen.

The conversation goes like this….

Chinaza: "Dad, what do those plums taste like?" As if she's never had one.

Me: "I'm not sure, I haven't tasted them yet." As if I never had one.

Now I know what's coming next, so my parental 3rd eye kicks in to see how long it will take for the REAL question to be asked. I counted down from 15.

*5…4…3…2…annnnd*

Chinaza: "Can I have one?"

After almost exploding in laughter, of course I said yes and gave my baby a plum.

It's only fruit for Gods sake.
